Frequently asked questions
How do I invite someone to my circle?
+
Open the app, tap Circle, then tap "Invite". SafeLoop generates a one-time code and a shareable link. The other person installs the app and taps the link (or types the code) to join. Both sides must accept — circle membership is always mutual.
What does SafeLoop track in the background?
+
Only your location, and only when you have granted background-location permission AND have at least one saved place with auto check-in turned on, OR an active trip in progress. We never read contacts, messages, or app usage outside SafeLoop. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel my subscription?
+
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not SafeLoop. Cancel in the App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or Play Store (Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). You will keep access until the end of your current paid period.
I need a refund.
+
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies — we cannot issue refunds directly. See our /terms#refunds for step-by-step instructions for both stores. If your request is denied, email us and we will try to escalate.
How do I delete my account?
+
In the app: Settings → Delete account → type DELETE to confirm. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Your data is removed from our servers and from your circle members' devices. Paid subscriptions must be cancelled separately in the App Store or Play Store.
Does the SOS button call emergency services?
+
No. SafeLoop is not an emergency service. The SOS button opens your phone's native text app prefilled with a message to your designated emergency contact — you tap Send. For life-threatening emergencies always call your local emergency number (911 / 112 / 100 / 108) directly.
My check-in didn't go through / location looks stale.
+
Open the app and pull-to-refresh on the Track tab. If that does not fix it: 1) Check that Location and Notifications permissions are still granted in your device settings. 2) Confirm Sharing is on (Track tab). 3) Force-quit and reopen the app. If still broken, email us with your name, phone OS, and what you saw.
I found a bug or have feedback.
+
Email support@safeloop.one with a short description and a screenshot if you can. Including your app version (Settings → About) speeds up triage.
